One and n cymbals (2026)

The composition is based on various recordings of a cymbal. Its compositional approach is largely based on microsound based manipulation of the recordings and to a lesser extent on the playing of the instrument itself. The title hints to Joseph Kosuths iconic work “one and three chairs”, but does not specify the second number and instead uses the variable “n”, as with digital manipulation duplication is possible virtually infinitely.
